About

Lisa Brown I am Lisa Brown, and my excitement for cooking, entertaining, and travel led me to start A Better Planner, LLC. What I love most about my work is I'm in the business of creating wonderful experiences, imparting inspiration, and fulfilling dreams! I take great pleasure in serving and supporting my clients in bringing to fruition their event, wedding, or travel vision.

My journey did not begin here. I'm originally from Virginia. I attended and graduated from Hampton University where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and a Master's degree in Teaching. After college, I taught in one of the top academic high schools in Fairfax County, Virginia for eight (8) years. My experience in teaching allowed me to hone many of the skills relevant to my business, such as resourcefulness, communicating on various levels, and being a great manager. It was not until I moved to Charlotte in 2005 that I decided to pursue my passion for the hospitality industry. I attended Central Piedmont Community College and earned a Special Events & Meeting Management certificate.

With seven (7) years of experience in planning, organizing and implementing events and travel, I've worked with clients ranging from: churches, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and universities. Clients have positively commented on my professionalism, organization, and attention to detail. What matters to me is connecting with clients and building authentic relationships that foster trust. Planning a wedding, a retreat for your team, or a group tour to the Holy Land are all very personal. You want someone who will not only work hard for you, but someone who you are comfortable with, who is compassionate, and a great listener who will incorporate your personal style to create an experience that is uniquely you!

Here are a few personal things to get to know me better. I enjoy great people, delicious food, and new experiences. Interesting fact, I completed a full marathon in 2004. I've visited over one-third of the United States and three (3) other countries so far. My favorite flowers are tulips and roses, and I love the X-Men (film series). Besides my Faith, my family and friends are what's most important to me.

Whether it's a destination wedding in Maui, or a 25th wedding anniversary celebration, my desire is to meet your preferred level of needs, making sure things run smoothly from beginning to end, and allowing you the freedom to enjoy it!
